Matanuska-Susitna Basin Salmon Habitat Partnership Hosts Alaskan Projects Tour

August 26, 2016

This week the Matanuska-Susitna Basin Salmon Habitat Partnership (Mat-Su Salmon Partnership) hosted its second annual site tour, which brought together members of the Partnership and stakeholders to network and see the work that the Mat-Su Salmon Partnership supports. This year’s highlights included a visit to Jim Lake, where partners have conducted restoration and scientific work in support of coho salmon and other species; Mud Lake, where partners worked to place over 700 acres of salmon habitat into protection; and McRoberts Creek, where partners have conducted stream restoration in support of salmon and other fish habitat. The Mat-Su Salmon Partnership is one of four Alaska-based Partnerships under the National Fish Habitat Partnership and works for thriving fish, healthy habitats, and vibrant communities in the Mat-Su Basin.
